The Great Awakening strived to erase the lines between religions by promoting religious pluralism and the concept that all faiths were equal. Primarily, the separation of Church and State was finally in place, which showed the opposition to allowing religion facilitate the decisions of their nation. The Awakening weakened the cultural authority of the upper class and produced a vision of a society drawn in more equal lines. The Great Awakening was a considerably dramatic event that took place in America in the 18th century. It is difficult to understand just how much of an impact it had on the American people at the time but it is probably comparable to the way that America felt on November 22, 1963 when JFK was assassinated. How England felt on September 6, 1997 when Princess Diana was laid to rest in her grave, or how the U.S responded on September 11, 2001. At the time of the Great Awakening, America had never experience anything so life changing. Everything that had been taught and raised to believe was changing right in front of them, so at first this new era had caused feelings of confusion, devastation, and disbelief, but after a while the colonist began

On September 11, 2001, Americans changed the way they lived their lives. They went from not worrying about their safety, to worrying about whether today was going to be their last day alive. September 11th took the lives of many innocent people that should not have lost their lives. The 911 memorial garden is the most important monument because it shows that terrorists shattered America ’s sense of safety, and courageous American citizens would give their lives in the years that followed as they fearlessly joined the fight against terrorism around the world.
Ms. Hale AP U.S. History June 4th, 2018 How did the Great Depression affect American society? Throughout American history, the people have experienced a series of ups and downs with their government and economy.
According to Mcelvaine (2004), the crash accelerated the downward spiral of the economy wiping out the paper wealth investors and altering the previously euphoric outlook of so many people into one pessimism, which made them more cautious of their spending and their investments and due to this they needed further demand. The money supply had major effects on the economy as well. If there is no money, then prices would have to fall and this could cause deflation, which is what caused the Panic of 1893, before the Great Depression took place. Germany dealt with hyperinflation and this contributed to the Depression. One way was that it wreaked havoc on the German economy and several European countries and they never fully recovered (Mcelvaine, 2004).
