According to the poem, there were 5 ages of man in which people changed over the course of time. The first age was the Golden Age, in which people lived happily and in harmony. Everything was peaceful and filled with loving spirits. People did not have to worry about the stressful things too much, and worked together with nature for food and land. Then came the Silver age and the Bronze age, in which people were so much more inferior compared to their earlier ancestor. In the Silver age, people had to depend so much on their parents as they grew up.
