The Holocaust was when the Nazis murdered 11,000,000 people. One of the most famous holocaust survivors was Elie Wiesel. He wrote a memoir Night. Some of the terrible things that happened to Elie included beating, starvation, and forced marches. This kind of trauma changes a person.
Anne Frank was a young Jewish girl living in Amsterdam during the occupation by the Nazis. She was forced to go into hiding above her father's work for two years to avoid prison. During her time in hiding, she kept a diary and wrote about her experience. Frank writes about her loving and compassionate family and also mentions how she has built new relationships with the other families in the house. In her diaries, Frank frequently emphasizes the value of family, emphasizing how her trials were made easier by the presence of those she loved who understood what she was going through.
In the year 1933, the persecution of Jews and their families due to the holocaust had begun. Hitler had come to power, and made Nazi Germany believe the Jews were the problem. The Jewish families were forced into hiding or else they would be taken away to concentration camps or killed. One of the families in 1945, being persecuted were the Franks. Anne Frank was 13 when they moved into the hidden annex above Mr. Kralers office building.

They hid in an attic room above Mr.Frank's work place with the help of close friends. Another family,the Van pels(Van Daans) joined them followed by Fritz Pfeffer(Dussel),Months later(196).The historical event did affect the frank family and others like him in many ways.

One particular family member, the youngest daughter, has a legacy that still lives on today. Anne Frank was both a hero and a victim of the Holocaust because she was forced into hiding, her loved ones were killed, and her diaries positively impacted many. In the “Diary of Anne Frank”, the Frank family got a letter that Margot had to go to the camps. At this point, they knew that they then had to hide. They needed to do anything to stay away and hidden from the Nazis. They decided to hide above a work building that people did not know about in the attic. This was their way that they were going to be living life as long as they needed too.
There was a group of people who were Jews and lived in the Secret Annex. Mr.Frank built the Annex and his family, he had two daughters named Anne and Margot. They had to live in this place because of a dictator named Hitler. They went into hiding on July 6, 1942.They are joined by four other people that are hiding because they were jews too. Mr.Frank is the one that lets all the people join his annex.

If they got caught hiding, they would be sent to a concentration camp, just because they are Jewish. They are being forced to hide, it’s the only way that they could survive. When the Germans ended up finding the families in the annex Anne wrote in her diary and said “They have allowed us 5 minutes to pack our things.” (Frank, 511.) While Anne and her family have many sentimental things, they only allowed them to pack for 5 minutes, they have to grab whatever they can.
Why Did They Do It Hobie Bobbitt We almost made it out alive. Learning about the Holocaust and Anne Frank are important for many different reasons. The three main topics I have are going to be about why you should study these two topics are it is a very educational thing to read a diary someone wrote in the middle of it all. The next is so you can know more about the history of it and the last is to see what people can really do to hurt other people. If you want to learn about a certain topic then it is a great way by reading a diary of someone in it.
However, one day, they were caught and sent to concentration camps. Anne’s father, Otto Frank, was the only one from the Annex to survive. Otto Frank later published the motivation and stories of his daughter. The story of Anne Frank became a beloved and inspiring work of literature all around the world.
