From 1928 to 1932, the Nazi Party went from 12 seats in the Reichstag to 230 and this was mainly due to the Wall Street crash and the depression that followed that lead to 6 million Germans out of work by 1932. Hitler also gained power through the weaknesses of the Weimar Constitution and how they could not cope with the rising of unemployed workers which brought his public speaking into practice as he promised to bring unemployment down by any means possible which increasingly made his reputation larger and stronger.The actions of President Hindenburg and von Papen on making Hitler the chancellor and thinking they could control him was childish mistake.
