In 27 BC, Rome’s first emperor, Augustus Caesar, took complete power. During his time, he ruled with Pax Romana, a time of Roman peace which lasted for almost 200 years. The primary reasons for the fall of Rome was it being geographically too big; the population was decreasing due to plagues which led to the Roman army becoming weak, social and military issues and laziness of the military would guide the army down which led to cities being lost, and their government and leadership issues of the weak or selfish power leaders would all conduct to the breaking up of Rome.

There were many different causes for the fall of the Roman empire, not just one. The Roman Empire was very strong, but eventually broke down over time for a multitude of reasons. Most of those reasons had to do with changes in Rome’s identity. Some of these changes in Rome’s identity led to the fall of Rome because they were so sudden; only portions of the Roman population were prepared for the change. Other times, citizens got into arguments because they were, in a way, too prepared.

When the halves drifted apart, they had trouble working together to fight off all of the invaders, and they started to fight over materials. When Diocletian split the empire it was a monumentally mistake. He divided the empire based on language with the western side speaking Latin and the East side speaking Greek. When Diocletian Died a civil war broke out because there was so much unrest inside the country. Social Problems were a factor people lost confidence in the Roman Empire. People just let the Fall of Rome just happen they did not care.
There are many reasons behind the decline and fall of the Western Roman Empire. Due to minimal population growth due to plague and low birthrates/fecundity because inheritance, birth-control methods, and lack of medical knowledge, the Roman was not able to fight off the barbarians such the Huns. Also due to the creation of Eastern capital, Roman money is being split. All the money is being sent to the east while not much money is being circulate in Rome. Inflation and recession occurred due to infatuation with Eastern goods.
