The Salem Witch Trials were a series of hearings and prosecutions due to the accusations of witchcraft. Many innocent people were either executed or sent to jail for a crime they may or may not have committed. The Salem Witch Trials impacted the history of America tremendously.
Without the trials, our country might not be the same as it is today. Although many people lost their lives due to the Salem Witch Trials, this was definitely a good learning experience for the
American Government.
I. How many people were killed during the Salem Witch Trials?
A. Over 200 people were accused of witchcraft during the Salem Witch Trials (Blumberg,
Jess). Tituba, a slave at the time, was one of the first people to be accused of witchcraft (Brooks,
Rebecca).
