There were many effects the Mongol actions and Ming economic development left on Korea, Japan, and Vietnam. Korea being the most influenced to Japan being the least influenced. Korea became a vassal state to both Yuan and Ming during Goryeo and Joseon dynasties. Korea was obedient to both Chinese dynasties. Whoever became king had to have authorization from the Chinese emperors. When Japan attacked Korea, Ming assisted Korea and defended the nation. Yuan, Ming, Goryeo, and Joseon all impacted one another. Yuan influenced Goryeo through fashion. Goryeo then gave Yuan traditional Tang Song fashion styles. These mixed and matched until Ming, when Aoqun became popular, and influenced Joseon. Royal manners from Goryeo also established in the Chinese imperial court during Yuan, influencing royal ways of life in China. …show more content…

During Tran dynasty, Vietnam successfully defended the Yuan dynasty from residing in the nation three times. Yuan’s objective was to swallow Daiviet and conquer Champa to the south, however resulted with Daiviet becoming a vassal state, which was the original status quo and completely failed to even touch Champa. After Yuan dropped and Ming appeared, due to Tran’s weakening powers, Ming took over Daiviet for around twenty years. After Daiviet successfully fended off Ming and established the Le dynasty, vast cultural influences from Ming transpired. The Mongols attempted two unsuccessful invasions of Japan. The first attempt ended in a retreat after the Battle of Bun'ei in 1274. Yuan dynasty tried to take over Japan, however it never reached Japanese islands considering Mongolians’ weakness on the waters. After they believed that the gods were protecting Japan, they decided to leave Japan peacefully. Japan viewed Yuan as barbaric and Yuan was unsuccessful taking over Japan.
