How did the Trail of Tears impact America? In 1837, President Andrew Jackson was determined to shape America into a nation, ridded of Natives. Jackson wanted them to the west of the Mississippi river, urging Congress to pass the Indian Removal Act. The Cherokee were the most affected by these events. Although brutal and loosely to the Cherokee and many other tribes, I feel proud of the of the events of the trail of Tears, because we gained land, solved the whit’s Indian problem, and helped achieve Manifest Destiny! Yes, the whites were a selfish brutal bunch who did not want to live wior mix with ther races but this forceful behavior brought them to where they are today so it’s actually bitter swee. The trail of Tears was all about expanding American Territory by forcing Native Americans to move westward,a achiecing America’s goal of Manifeist desinty!! When kicking them out, Americans would expand the American territory until the Mississippi. The Natives were forced to travel through harsh weather.
