W.E.B. Du Bois ( William Edward Burghardt Du Bois) is one of the most outstanding Africa. Americans of his time. DuBois is a scholar (first African American to earn a Ph.D. from Harvard University), sociologist, author, writer, editor, and co-founder of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (N.A.A.C.P.) in 1909. W. E. B. Du Bois views are based on educational advancement, political and economic equality for black people. DuBois was against the concept of segregation. He believed that African Americans could be accepted into American society if they made education a top focus and priority. He also suggested that there were a few black people that are intellectually elite.
