Women Earning Their Right to Vote The first U.S. women’s rights convention happened in Seneca Falls, New York in the year of 1848. This convention started the women’s rights movement in the United States, which led to women earning their right to vote in the 1920’s The organizers that started this organization were named Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, and Lucretia Mott. The law stated that every state provided that husbands had to select the place of residence for the family, and if the wife choose not to accept his choice she loses her rights to support and her refusal should be regarded as desertion. In 1850, Elizabeth met Susan B. Anthony while they were working together; they both would soon to be known for being involved in the suffrage movement and also as Feminism. They both impacted the world for women by battling the issues that was toward the women. The National Woman Suffrage Association was a convention to help women get the benefit to vote. This convention started in 1890 and was made out of two women 's rights movement, which were called the American Woman Suffrage Association and the National Woman Suffrage Association. Stanton then had created a group of delegates that had made a document that was called “Declaration of Sentiments”. This was modified after the Declaration of independence and was written by Stanton, this demanded that women had their same rights as men had in the United States
