World War one was a military conflict that lasted from 1914 to 1918. The war involved two sides which were entitled the “Central Power” and “Allies”.The Western Front was quickly filled with trenches, with the introduction of the trenches it then bought many new then to war such as poison gas, hand grenades, tanks, and heavy mortar attacks. During World War One trench warfare had a significant effect on Soldiers during World War one. Trench warfare was not the nicest way to be living life, there were many diseases during World War One and what the trenches were when they first started to when they finished. Over two hundred thousand men died in the trenches during World War One. Gathering their weapons, soldiers took a place on the ‘fire step’, and sun rose, fired towards enemy lines in a daily ritual is happened everyday, the men worked on chores, from sentry duty to trench maintenance, spending their spare time catching up on sleep or writing letters. Trench warfare was a way that many armies used to get out of the firing way during world war, the trenches where very unsanitary way to be living, there bathrooms where just holes in the ground that everyone used, there where many death that were just left in the trench to be eaten by rates and to rot away, days were long, cold, wet winters and hot, dry summers-almost year round unpleasant weather this weather made the day much longer then what they where. Trench toilets called latrines were usually as deeps as 1.5 meters deep. Machine guns were one of the most deadly weapons. They were able to fire 400–500 shots every minute. This made it very difficult to escape a bullet. Which made jobs much harder, many lives were lost to machine
