How District Attorneys Use Math
There are many different careers to choose from. Different careers use math in different ways. For example, an animator may use math in one way while an architect uses it in another. One career that uses math in multiple ways is a district attorney. District attorneys use math when researching for cases, building cases, and presenting cases.
One way a district attorney may use math is when they are researching for cases. This is when a D.A. may need to use statistics and calculate percentages. For example, a D.A. may use statistics to prove to a judge and/or jury whether or not a certain situation was likely to happen. A D.A. may also need to calculate percentages in cases when people are suing others. These are a few ways in which a district attorney may need to use math when

When writing briefs for cases a D.A. uses deductive logic. This is similar to doing a geometric proof. When a D.A. is writing a brief for a case where they must convince the judge that their client should win they structure the brief like a geometric proof, writing the reasons why their client should win and supporting those reasons with relevant laws and precedents. This is why proving theorems and properties using deductive reasoning is great training for any attorney.
A final way in which a district attorney may use math is when they are presenting cases in the courtroom. When a D.A. is presenting a case they need to use basic mathematical skills such as problem solving and logic. This means a D.A. must illustrate step-by-step knowledge of their case in a courtroom, much like solving a math problem. By utilizing the skills necessary to solve a math problem in the courtroom a D.A. is able to efficiently present their case. This is yet another way district attorneys are able to use math in their
