The purpose of this experiment was to conduct a long-term population genetics study by observing five generations of Drosophila melanogaster to determine the allele frequencies of eye color. Population genetics is the study of distribution and change in allele frequency in a population (). This makes population genetics important to the study of evolutionary biology as it examines adaptations, speciation, and the population structure of a population under study (). Two important processes of population genetics that will be examined in this experiment are natural selection and genetic drift, both that are important to evolution ().
Learned behaviors are important in primates because it shows that they can evolve by learning knew things and passing them onto there offspring. This ability of learned behavior is special in primates because of there intelligence. All animals have instinctual behaviors, which are needed to keep themselves alive, but not all species have learned behaviors as sophisticated as
Learned behavior, which is common in primates, is a highly important for their survival. “Sometimes, primates are not conscious of their actions, and other times they strategize, learning by observation and imitation” (195). Although instinctual behavior helps primates survive, learned behavior is beneficial because through their social groups and social learning, primates have been able to show each other ways to survive. In addition, primates are known to have substantially larger brains and are typically more intelligent than other mammals, so their extensive learning capabilities enable them to discover survival tactics or food sources. Then the things they have learned are passed on to each other through their social groups
Darwin’s conclusion of his “dangerous idea", the idea of natural selection, was published on his book ,"On the Origin of Species”. The idea of natural selection is that nature chooses the species that is strongest, allowing for the species to continue reproducing, until fatality occurs. Natural selection is Darwin’s theory to explain the modifications of species, which is due to how well a specie adapts to its environment. If there are too many of the same species, competition for food would arise. Natural selection exists everywhere, including the Galapagos island, where multifarious species reside.

The debate regarding innate behaviour and learned behaviour is one which has caused great discussions amongst psychologists and often polarises opinions. At the crux of the argument lies the issue as to whether humans are born with certain characteristics or behaviours, or whether these are learned; hence the common phrasing the nature/nurture debate. There are two types of behaviour: innate, and learned. Innate behaviour is instinctive, natural behaviour that is present at birth. There is certainly evidence to suggest that some behaviours are innate.

The Origin of Species will help prove my thesis because it introduces the ideas that we base on evolutionary biology today.
As of 2018, Charles Darwin has remained one of the most influential biologists in world history ever since the release of his book “On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection”, a book that would change the landscape of science as a whole forever. It would go on to challenge the long-held belief that the course of nature had been fixed and guided by a higher being, causing some to either question or even abandon their belief in a supernatural being such as a god and/or religion, while others found a way to hold on to their religious beliefs while accepting the scientific findings of Darwin. Though there are some today who still reject half if not all of Darwin’s theories about evolution and natural selection, as they believe it undermines the morals, dogma, and doctrine of their religious texts. As for me, I’m honestly in the creationist/intelligent design camp, but I’m open to hearing what Darwinism is about, and here’s what I’ve been able to understand about evolution and natural selection according to Darwin
Did you know that whenever Charles Darwin released his theory 143 years ago the scientists of the day argued over it fiercely (Rennie) after a long while the scientists of the day were able to finally come to an agreement after studying Mr. Darwin’s theory. However the argument does not center on whether or not that evolution has occurred. The argument is how long it took the lord to create the earth. Was it six days as stated in the bible? Or did it take much longer?
