Have you ever think about how white people treat black people so badly during the great depression? White people seem black people as guilty because of their skin color, and because of the skin color, terrible things happen to a character in the story “To Kill A Mockingbird.” This sounds ridiculous, but this is what really happened in the great depression, people can do anything for their own benefits. At that time, racism was so common in the society, white people judge black people by their skin color, and white people even think about black people in a very distorted way. How can racism be so common during the time in the society? It’s what the environments and the situations that people are in. In the story, Tom Robinson was a black people and he had done nothing wrong, but one day he was accused without any evidences. He was accused that he had raped a white woman. At this point, we can know that this shows your skin color influences what others think about you, and especially at some specific time. Tom Robinson was killed, although a white lawyer, Atticus, tried his best to help him. This sounds ridiculous and also sounds nonsense, but this is what people usually look at them in this way. White people think black people was born as guilty because of their skin color. Bad things happen on black people frequently in the great depression. One of a simple example from the book is Tom Robinson, although Atticus is willing to help him, but because of how people seem Tom as guilty in the courtroom, Tom was died at the end. Black people are not equal white people, this is what most white people think in their mind. Black people does not worth what white people had. Although nothing happen or it’s a make up story, people will not blame us in this society, because we are white people not black
