Lady Macbeth, after Malcolm was appointed Prince of Cumberland, how do you feel this might impact your husband's goals and dreams?

"Malcolm's appointment may temporarily setback my dear husband's dreams and aspirations. However, we must adapt; we can not let him ruin my husband's path to the King of Cumberland, and it may push us to adopt more ruthless measures to ensure my Husbands place on the throne.

Several times in the play, I have noticed that you are incredibly persistent in your husband's rise to power; what drives this relentless pursuit of royalty?

"I envision a future where Macbeth and I sit on the throne ruling over Cumberland, the way it should be. It is the pursuit of power, greatness, and responsibility that drives my pursuit …show more content…

"My manipulation methods involve challenging Macbeth's masculinity and exploiting his desire to become king. I recognized the honor and thirst for power he possesses and exploited this, provoking him to commit regicide. My dear husband thirsts for power but does not possess the stomach to obtain power; all I do is help him achieve this power. If I did not believe he wanted this power and opportunity, I would not exploit my husband like this."

Lady Macbeth, what sacrifices are you willing to make to ensure your husband's ascent to the leadership of Cumberland?

"I am willing to go to extreme lengths to ensure my husbands' path to the throne. My aspirations are intertwined with his; if he goes down, I go down with him. I am willing to sacrifice anything for my dear husband Macbeth."

However, I regard this shame as a necessary part of his maturation. To keep him grounded, I'll remind him of our ultimate goal: to become King and Queen of Cumberland. I want to keep his attention on the future rather than the past by emphasizing the benefits that await us. He will emerge as a stronger and more responsible leader once he overcomes his shame. My responsibility is to be his biggest supporter and to always remind him of the potential greatness that awaits us."

In Act 2, you play a significant role in the murder of King Duncan. What emotions are you feeling now and during the act? Do you feel guilty?

"During the act, I was determined and had my eyes set on the end, trying to think of nothing besides me besides my dear husband on the throne. Now I feel excited about what will come for my husband and me. But, recently, I have noticed I am incredibly antsy about little things; when people speak about Duncan's death, my heart starts to beat faster. I would not call it guilt but anticipation for what will come."
