“In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.” Anne Frank grew up in one of the most harrowing times in history. She was an extraordinary and inspiring human being, and unbeknownst to her, a published author. Through her diary, Anne delivered multiple quotes that survived beyond her short life. These quotes could be characterized as brave, whimsical, or indifferent. Nevertheless, they are, by far, some of the most inspiring words that I have ever read. Even though Anne isn’t with us, her legacy still remains. Through this essay, I hope to explain how Anne lived out her words and how she impacted my life over 70 years later. When Anne was just a young girl, the Frank family was forced into hiding for their Jewish faith. Adolf Hitler, the cruel leader of the Nazis, and the autocrats were against the Jewish religion. Hitler believed all Jews should be to eliminated, so that was Hitler's main goal during this period of time. When in the concentration camps the Jews would either work or be gassed to death if they were incapable of contributing to the Germans cause. The events that took place were truly tragic, and the worst part is that the only way to escape it was to begin hiding. Even though Peter can be spiteful at times, Anne still put in the effort to be kind. In this conversation, he proved that he can be kind and be astounding when he wants to. Peter is a magnificent boy; it’s whether or not he wants to act like one. When Anne first met the boy, they did not get along at all.
