The essay wIll explain the situations that Christopher was in and how I would react. We as people have the tendency to underestimate our ability to adapt to certain situations. When we are placed in one of those situations that aren 't familiar to us we learn how to adapt to them. Since Christopher has autism you would understand why he did what he did, but since I don 't have autism you would think that I would react totally differently and reasonably, but you would be surprised to know that some of the ways he acted I would act the same way. Even though Christopher has autism and I don’t, some of the ways he reacted to things would be similar to ways I act if I was in the same predicament. One of the situations that Christopher is in is at the beginning of the book when he finds out that Wellington his neighbors dog has been killed. Mrs. Shears calls the police and they ask Christopher lots of questions and he doesn 't like it so he starts to groan very loudly. Then Christopher did this, “ the policeman took hold of my arm and lifted me onto my feet. I didn 't like him touching me like this. And this is when I hit him”. In the end Christopher and I would react very similar even though he has autism and I don’t. There were other things like when a policeman tries to take him home to his father and Christopher gets so scared that he wets himself so he goes to clean up and when the policeman comes to get him he doesn 't know that he 's hiding in the cupboard and the policeman think he escaped. What i would have done is if I was trying to get away i wouldn 't be smart enough to go there I would try to leave the bathroom and escape another way. There are many ways that we act the same and when i read the book I was a little surprised by what Christopher did and it made me think how we
