A Tale of Two Cities is a story that takes place during the French Revolution and is in the cities of London and Paris. Charles Dickens deals with multiple themes throughout the story because he was very caught up in all of the political and economical aspects that were going on at the time he wrote A Tale of Two Cities. Some of the themes that Charles Dickens presents in the story are duality, revolution, violence, and resurrection. He also presents different ways that many of the characters throughout the story presented human evil. A reoccurring theme in the story is the battle between good and evil. One of the human evils that we see in A Tale of Two Cities is in Sydney Carton who looks exactly like Charles Darnay in the physical but is actually the complete opposite of Charles Darnay. Sydney Carton has a strong hate towards Charles Darnay because Sydney Craton knows that if he wasn’t a drunk that he would be just like Charles Darnay and even have Lucie Manette’s love like Charles Darnay has. I think that the point that Charles Dickens is trying to get across in regards to evil is that evil people like to do evil things for no good reason other than that because they are bad people. Evil people don’t care if they are fair to other people or not, they just want to do what they think is right or do whatever feels good to them. These evil people have no regards on the effects that they have on other people around them. Not even just the effect they have on other people in the moment they are doing something to them but also the after affects. They break these people and it can take a really like time for these people to really regain their strength and fix
