How Does Disobedience Promote Progress

359 Words2 Pages
We often see disobedience in a negative light, however in some cases, disobedience can be seen as a good thing. When I think about this I think of the phrase rules were meant to be broken. If rules were always followed then there would be no freedom or change for the better. Rules aren't vital, they are just there to keep things organized and in place. Some rules sacrifice people’s happiness and freedom, so in times like that, it is good to be disobedient; because of this, I agree with Wilde on the idea that disobedience promotes progress and that it is a valuable trait, unless one is just being disobedient for fun. If one is being disobedient for a purpose then there must be something wrong in the way things are being run. Rosa parks
