Feuds within the leadership and the lack of useful communication also led to the inability of the Russian army to succeed when it mattered the most. Where many historians credit the failures of the Russian army to is the Russian economy. Stone main point of this book was to discredit that common misconception. His relentless researched had led him to believe that Russia’s failure are accredited to unqualified leadership and unorthodox military organization.
The British were surrounded and trapped with no other option then to
Lina asks Andrius why he is staying in the NKVD building. He then tells Lina, "They threatened to kill me unless she slept with them." This shows that the NKVD has no regard for the Lithuanians. This also exaggerates the casualness of the NKVD's actions, and the cruelty of Joseph Stalin and his secret army, the NKVD. This relates to the townsfolk in The Lottery.
This becomes evident in September, 1940, when President Franklin Roosevelt decided to enter into an agreement with the British ambassador (Doc. F). The agreement provided Britain with critical destroyer ships from the United States for eight valuable defense base stations. When President Roosevelt decided to provide Britain with the destroyer ships it indicated a siding with the allies, and will change the mindset of most Americans to ‘all aid short of war” as neutrality was breached. Also, this change of stance came with Britain being the last one standing against Hitler within Europe since people feared the war reaching the Western Hemisphere, if not kept within Europe. In consideration to keeping the war out of America, President Franklin Roosevelt will highlight how ‘we’ must do everything to help the British Empire defend itself (Doc. H).
Post WWl, Russia was still not industrialized, suffering economically and politically and in no doubt in need of a leader after Lenin’s death. “His successor, Joseph Stalin, a ruthless dictator, seized power and turned Russia into a totalitarian state where the government controls all aspects of private and public life.” Stalin showed these traits by using methods of enforcement, state control of individuals and state control of society. The journey of Stalin begins now.
This is why the assassination of Alexander Litvinenko. Many assassinations are talked about such as the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, Malcolm X and so on, but one assassination that is barely touched is the assassination of Alexander Litvinenko. Alexander was a secret officer who stopped crime. He also knew
He soon turned his attention toward Ukraine, the most troublesome of the non-Russian Soviet republics. The Ukrainians were fiercely independent, given to ignoring orders from Moscow and keeping their agrarian way of life. “At a time when Stalin wanted to build a strong industrial base, they clung to their rural peasant traditions. At a time when he wanted to abolish private ownership of land, they refused to surrender their farms. In short, the Ukrainians had become a threat to the revolution….”(Document

Marc, Overall your paper is informative in nature and provides some strong information on the history of tanks in warfare. You did a great job pointing out that the Germans used new tactics during the blitzkrieg compared to the Allies. You should have developed this with more detail to describe the Germans tactics. Explain the way tanks were used to “punch” a hole in weaker defenses while avoiding stronger defensive positions. Thus, quickly overrunning an Allies position allowing the Germans tanks and forces access behind the Allis front line and encircling the stronger positions.
To the Russian people, this was their only way to meet their goals because if they spoke out against the Tsar, the would’ve been
He talks about how Britain is “protecting” America from other super powers like Spain and France but says that if we weren’t a British colony we wouldn’t
Loyalty is like a chunk of gold at the bottom of a river- sometimes it’s fake, sometimes it takes awhile to find, but when it’s real it has great value. As shown in Of Mice and Men, loyalty is a huge part of having a strong, positive relationship with someone. Lennie and George effectively demonstrate this with their close bond to each other. Additionally, it is shown between Candy and his dog. However, with Curley and his wife there is no trust between them and therefore they have a weak connection.
“They outnumber us and we already lost too many,” explained Peter. As I escaped oblivion and reached my senses once again, the words of Mr. Washington flooded into my mind. “They could have thousands of soldiers, and we could have a meager hundred, but that means absolutely nothing!” After recollecting his words I persisted on staying. “General Washington told us that the number of troops is insignificant.”
I covered how Putin’s visionary leadership traits ignored key aspects of diversimilarity and show how he was methodical in planning and executing is objectives. I also demonstrated how his drive for success and a lack of open-mindedness made him an unethical leader. Finally, I reflected on my own leadership as it pertains to these lesson principles, and my pursuit to continue growing as a self-aware leader. Perhaps there would be no Russia, as we currently know it, without Putin”, certainly he has shaped his country and has effected countless lives and treasure. Influential Russian author, Fyodor Dostoevsky might have foreshadowed such a leader as Putin in his book The Brothers Karamazov: “He understood very well that for the meek soul of a simple Russian, exhausted by grief and hardship and, above all, by constant injustice and sin, there was no stronger need than to find a holy shrine or a saint to prostrate himself before to worship”.
