James Madison was the fourth president of the United States. Before he was a president he was know as the small, short, nerdy kid. He did not do much before his presidency he did a lot of schooling. He was able to write some or most of the constitution. When he became president he was given dieing economy because of no trade. To start it off he creates the Non-intercourse act which allows trade to anyone but England and France. This did not do much because either England controlled most of everywhere and whatever was not England was France. The War of 1812, England would not stop blowing up our ships and a new generation of War Hawks in congress allowed this to happen. Napoleon ends up giving up but when he gets back he s defeated and put on a small island named Elba. Now that England is free of Napoleon they see an opportunity to attack America because we pronounced war on them. England comes over and set’s the White House on fire, then try and burn Baltimore. When England got to Baltimore, Baltimore sends out a messenger named Francis. Francis soon after becomes a prisoner of England while they move on to Ft. McHenry. As they fight all night long with cannons, when the sun rises and the smoke clears Francis sees that the American Flag is still standing. Francis soon after creates the Star-Spangled Banner which is known today and sung. Napoleon Escapes his little island, when Napoleon gets back to England the king sends out a lot of his army and send them after him. This caused the Battle of Waterloo, here Napoleon is defeated once more and sent to another island called St. Helena which is very guarded. The British are determined to win this war and com up with a plan to crush America. There plan is to invade from the top and bottom and really crush them
