During his reign he was able to conquer multiple countries and install many beneficial plans and system for France. These acts however has created a huge rift in Napoleon’s image. He is either viewed as a hero or tyrant.
Napoleonic Rule The late 1700’s was a time of great discontent in France. The people of France revolted against their government in an attempt to gain power in political decision making. In this time, France experienced many forms of governments as the people fought for change. It was during the 1790’s that Napoleon Bonaparte became known to the people as a strong military leader.
Napoleon Bonaparte did and did not support several ideas of the Enlightenment and French Revolution, to some extent. Napoleon supported the increase of educational opportunities for people who were lacking the money for it. He did this by introducing scholarships and constructed more schools. Napoleon even made primary schools for young girls to attend. Also, he supported religious toleration, with the Concordat of 1801, when he managed to maintain peace with the Pope of the time and still keep the religious toleration.

He quickly rose through the ranks due to his excellent schooling at the Royal Academy. Despite beginning to fight at an early age the official commencement of the “Napoleonic Era” was 1799. At that time Napoleon would have been thirty and the French Revolution would have been in its tenth and final year. A few years before the “Napoleonic Era” the Royalists were still struggling to regain control of France, a country that had resorted to violence and rebellion in order to break away from the tyrannical reign of King Louis XVI.

Louis Napoleon was born on April 20, 1808 in Paris, France. He was the son of Louis Napoleon I, who was crowned king of Hollon by his brother Napoleon, and Hortense de Beauharnais. He was kept in exile throughout his childhood and youth after his mother, had been banished from France like all the other Bonaparte 's, after the fall of Napoleon I. There he was educated and he became interested in history and ideas of national liberty, and even at a young age he always thought of getting the Napoleonic empire to himself. Later on in his life he moved back to Italy to join the Carbonari, to fight against Austria taking over Northern Italy.
Earlier today, I heard about Napoleon, a French military leader and emperor. Napoleon, had major military success across Europe and expanded his empire. Napoleon also reformed the revolution by making changes with the laws, government, and especially education. I 'm glad that Napoleon is also focused on education, so therefore I may attend school, thanks to him because he has constructed many schools. This led to the sis of democracy since his nationalism gave people the idea, that they can revolt and create their own democratic government.
The French Revolution ended when Napoleon Bonaparte, a military genius, stepped in and dismantled the Directory, which promoted middle class interests, and helped with financial crisis and food shortages. Napoleon crowned himself emperor of France, and made a new social order called the Napoleonic Code. Although there may be many reasons he reversed the spirit of the French Revolution, he modernized and changed the political and social construct immensely, for the good of France. The main trait that Napoleon is known for is his genius military mind.
