Napoleon Bonaparte
Napoleon Bonaparte was a French Military leader who ruled France between the years 
of 1799 until 1815. He is important because he ended the French Revolution and changed the way France’s government was run and gave the people equality. He also expanded the French empire across Europe.

Joseph Fouche’
Joseph Fouche’ was a Jacobin and minister of police during the time Napoleon was ruler. He is important because he was Napoleon’s head of internal security and helped Napoleon’s secret police end all opposition against Napoleon’s rule, he also was in contact with the royalists.

Charles Talleyrand

French soldiers were drafted by the Committee of Public Safety to fight against the countries invading France. France winning this war then signed the Treaty of Campo Formio. The First Coalition War was important because the outcome of the war showed that the France military, under Napoleon’s rule, were able to fight for the French Republic.
