It was published in 1960 and became successful in America instantly and is read among high schools all over the nation.The author Harper Lee had won a Pulitzer prize.In the first chapter the reader meets Jem, the older brother of Scout (Jean Louise). She explained how Jem breaks his arm and the events leading to it.
