At the beginning of the novel, we find that Harry hates his town and regards his life miserable. Harry wants to ‘find the quickest way out’ of his town, and never wants to ‘come back… [not] for a long time’. He dreams and wishes of being ‘miles and another world away’ from the town he lives in. Harry has been exposed to death, loneliness, sadness and anger in his childhood. This makes Harry strong but sometimes lonely and isolated.
Hagrid had to explain to him his past and when Harry learned everything he accepted it and was brave enough to go with Hagrid and begin his journey to the wizard world. This also demonstrated the theme of the supernatural. Diagon Alley shows an opening into the wizard world. He got his wand and all his other objects he needed to fully begin his journey. “Harry then did something that was both very brave and very stupid: He took a great running jump and managed to fasten his arms around the toll’s neck from behind” (176).
Even after learning he is a wizard, Harry is forced to repress that fact every summer when he must return to his aunt and uncle’s house to await the next school year. This forces Harry into a routine that is tedious, difficult, and borderline oppressive. While at his aunt and uncle’s house, Harry cannot act freely nor express his wishes, desires, or needs. Because of this situation, Harry is always glad to return to Hogwarts, breaking him out of his backbreaking routine and into a world that is ever changing and unpredictable. Here not only does Harry have an unprecedented level of independence, but he is not required to conform to what an uncaring authority figure thinks; the teachers at Hogwarts tend to be fairly forgiving of Harry’s behavior.
Harry Potter sighed sullenly as he plopped himself on his bed at the sixth year dorms in Gryffindor tower while thoughts about the events that transpired in the few weeks that have passed since the start of his sixth year rushed through his mind. It seems that like every year since he started his education at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry when he was at the tender age of eleven his upcoming sixth year would not be uneventful as he hoped. The raven-haired boy came to this conclusion when Professor Dumbledore himself came to visit him at the Dursleys' during the summer to take him to the Burrow.
Harry Potter, from the Harry Potter book series, was a fictional wizard. The books were set in the late 1980’s. Harry Potter defied all the odds when he survived a killing curse at age one. Voldemort tried to kill Harry, and succeeded in killing both his mother and father. Harry however, was able to survive because his mother gave her life to protect Harry, which in turn created a shield, so that Harry could not be harmed.
Throughout the entirety of the movie, Harry yearns to be like the others around him, who have family to love and provide for them. This makes the audience feel sorrow and empathy for the young boy and the hardships he is experiencing. Harry also has a supernatural experience with his parents. Harry discovers a room with a mirror called The Mirror of Erised. This magical artifact shows will show whoever is looking at it, what they desire the most in life.
The Harry Potter series was a phenomena like no other ever experienced by the world before. Suddenly adults were reading children's books and people were waiting in line for hours dressed in black cloaks to see a movie about an eleven year old wizard. At the time when the average college student was growing up, Harry Potter was a household name and there was no way to escape the Potter mania that had taken over the United States, Europe, and the rest of the world. Fast forward 18 years after the release of the first Harry Potter novel and the effect the series still has on society can be seen everywhere. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter amusement park at Universal Studios brings in hundreds of visitors everyday, and it is hard to imagine logging onto Twitter or Tumblr and not seeing Harry Potter oriented posts and memes within seconds.

literary analysis: Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets I’ve read Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets, a book written by J.K. Rowling. It’s the second book in a series of 7. The book is about Harry Potter, a 12-year-old wizard going to Hogwarts. This year, people are getting stupefied without anyone knowing the reason behind it.
Harry Potter’s narrative follows Campbell’s pattern. In Harry’s case, he is living with his Muggle relatives, when letters from Hogwarts arrive to notify him that he has been accepted to the wizarding school (cf. Ahmed, 2012,
Harry’s life isn’t very bright in the beginning of our story; he is forced to sleep in a cupboard under the stairs, never gets anything for his birthdays (except a pair of Uncle Vernon’s old socks, and coat hangers ) and he is constantly being bullied by his 12 year old nephew, Dudley. One fine morning, Harry starts receiving strange letters adressed to his cupboard and is rescued by a giant man. Harry discovers his parents hadn’t died in a car crash (as his uncle and aunt always told him), but that they were wizards, and that he’s one as well. Though that’s not all; Harry isn’t just an ordinary wizard, but a famous one. The reason behind this is when, At the time of Harrys’ birth, a dark wizard roamed the country, and this wizard so happened to be at his prime (strongest).
Throughout his life, Harry has been hidden away and abused in the Muggle (human) world by his family and those around him while the wizard world that he never knew he belonged to revered him. It’s only after a decade that a small giant named Hagrid says, “Harry-yer a wizard,” (Rowling 60) and reveals Harry’s magic filled past and the heroic status he carries in the wizard world. Upon learning of his origin, Harry is forced to be reborn from being a small boy hidden away in a cupboard under the staircase to a wizard and hero known as the “Boy Who Lived”, for defeating the greatest threat his world had ever known. Despite the shock he receives after hearing the news, Harry overcomes his doubt and decides to not run away from his past but instead to embrace it. He willingly joins the world he was meant to be part of and evolves from a timid young boy into someone who defends the weak and helps others.
Harry has a different life at his new school, Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and his friendship with two good friends named Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. The different
