Do you know a genre that influenced the pop culture throughout the years? Well, there’s many genre that have and there’s one genre that had a big influence. Hip-hop is a genre that still influences many pop cultures today. Where it was originated, the meaning of hip hop, and hip hop from the beginning and now made a big influence in it’s culture. With a variety of collaborations, hip hop has shown to go beyond the normal. Hip hop or rap music first originated in the United States in the 1970s. Hip hop was form in New York City when block parties became increasingly popular. Hip hop wasn’t created by just one man. It was created by groups. DJs played the music with turntables. DJs also used the percussive breaks of popular songs. Jamaican dab music was introduced by into New York City by immigrants from Jamaica. And one of those immigrants was DJ Kool Herc. When hip hop first start all the used was turntables. The times past, and the genre became more popular and advanced. I believe the 80s was the most important decade in the hip-hop culture. There were so many artist that evolved it. Now in music videos generally show women half-naked just to get the artist to be more "popular". Hip-hop has corrupted the minds of most people that this is how women should be treated. And back then it wasn’ like that. Majority of people would say that hip-hop has no meaning anymore and it's just awful. Then you have those individuals that think hip-hop is the best thing ever. All of the major hip-hop artist now have learned from all of the greats in the 80s. It is outstanding on how something that nobody would think be popular turns out and be the most popular
