Homer was a famous Greek poet, who is known for his epic stories of The Iliad and the Odyssey, which were believed to be written around the 8th century B.C. Very little is known about the "greatest epic poet in history." There is a great deal of debate between historians and scholars as to if Homer even existed at all.
