How we see the world defines who we are as humanity. We only get to see, feel, and experience the world one time. Writing is a form of transference allowing another to embrace and experience how someone else sees and interprets the universe. Imagination is key in writing because it allows the writer to transport the reader to a land that only exists too the writer. This new and amazing universe will have everything dictated by one person’s emotions and viewpoint. Some believe in the human soul, and if it is indeed real then writing is one of the few ways that one soul can meet others. It is through this outstanding correspondence between human emotions and paper that allow profound thoughts too be shared in a single speck in time. A true writer knows how to maintain realism while giving a reader something that they have never actually experienced. In Life of Pi, a boy pie is a drift in the ocean alone with only a savage tiger to comfort him. Though I can not personally experience or truly understand what Pi feels, you can’t help but put yourself in his place. Fear, loneliness, pure insanity. All of these things he would have felt before the end of the book. Through writing these intangible emotions are somehow put onto paper for you alone too experience through your perspective. In many ways a book is a gift not only to the mind but also too the soul. A fleeting sentence has the power to change anyone and anything. When you read a book never expect too see the world the same again and be prepared for a transformation. Not all books will change who you are, but that does not mean you will never encounter a book that will release you from your cage of your own
