This shows Macbeth’s desire to become king, even though he already has a high ranking position in the land. He is not content with he has and desires an even higher position. He desires it so much to the point of betraying the trust of people who are close to him just for his own greedy self gain. Macbeth betrays and backstabs many characters in the story, an example being King Duncan himself.
Macbeth is a well trained soldier who seems like he’d be a great leader and lots of people look up to him which makes him powerful. “All hail Macbeth, Thane of Glamis, Thane of Cawdor, be king hereafter”(Act 1, Scene 1). This quote is showing what Macbeth will become in the future and why people will respect him and his power. People are too scared to stand up to King Macbeth because they are afraid of what he’ll do and the confidence he has with his power is dangerous. “The power of man for none of woman born shall harm Macbeth”(Act 4, Scene 1).
Shakespeare’s Macbeth describes the detailed story of the thane of Glamis, a noble man and general, who takes the throne as the king of Scotland, by murdering the king and taking his place. Lady Macbeth, Macbeth’s wife, was a very ambitious woman, who convinced Macbeth to go through with the deed, as she had a passion to become the queen. After the deed is done, Macbeth is so focused on taking the throne, to the point where he will not let anything or anyone stand in his way, implying that he would go through with killing someone again, even his best friend Banquo, in order to keep his place on the throne, which is eventually what happens. To begin with killing King Duncan greatly influenced Macbeth’s mental stability and dramatically alters the way, Macbeth thinks as he now does not feel safe in his own skin, as he fears someone will catch him.
The film Macbeth illustrates Lady Macbeth and Macbeth to have very different personalities than their original counterpart of the play. Lady Macbeth is portrayed as a much more grieving mother. Her characteristics change and are more revealed during the killing of the Macduff family. Throughout the film Lady Macbeth is demonstrated as a much more emotional character, with her grieving over her child's death, to the breakdown during the terrifying burning of the Macduff family. The new characteristics of the character also again give a new feel to the storyline of the character.
Macbeth has a lot of development in this book. Some of the ways he changed built characters, some changes killed bonds. This happens many times throughout the plot some changes were made by force, through the manipulation of his wife. Others are from the power getting to his head. Through these developments you can see Macbeth go from coward to killer to demise.

Throughout the Tragedy of Macbeth, we see several changes that Macbeth goes through. From the beginning, Macbeth is depicted as a hero and a valiant soldier. However as the novel continues, his character changes dramatically from a champion to a tyrant. After winning a battle, Macbeth is given the title of Thane of Cawdor. This sparks his ambition to do whatever it takes to remain in power.

Not only the witches, but also his wife easily manipulate Macbeth as she attacks his manhood in order to provoke him to act on his desires.

In the play Macbeth by Shakespeare it has positive and negative outcomes, when it comes to how Macbeth proceeds his life in such negative term transforming him into this man he wasn’t before. Shakespeare’s message about right vs wrong leads to the downward spiral of an individual. In the beginning of the play, Macbeth was working towards the king title, even if that led to a downward spiral in his life.
