As a child if you ever experienced the life of a single parent, or maybe being exceptionally smart for your age then you will probably connect or relate to this character. Scout finch or Jean-lousie, is a young character that narrates the story To kill a mockingbird written by harper lee. From the beginning of this book, most readers pick up on the fact that she is very young but very mature for her age. While reading this book, she has proven time and time again that she loves to observe and ask questions. This helps and hurts her a lot throughout the book especially when she starts to investigate the town's problems. In this story, Scout has an older brother named Jem, and her fathers name is Atticus. Unfortunately their mother passed away when Scout was very young, but their household helper Calpurnia helps fill the role, raising them when Atticus is not home. …show more content…

With that being said, her appearance matches her personality to a T. Her big personality and even what she wore started causing problems when she started school.Scout hates school because in many ways it actually inhibits her learning. Her teacher is appalled that she already knows how to read, but instead of celebrating that fact, Ms.Caroline shames Scout for it. But Scout quickly becomes bored waiting for the rest of the class to catch up to her skill level, and she doesn't have more than a passing respect for either of the teachers she describes in the story.The most sympathy she can have towards Miss Caroline is to remark "Had her conduct been more friendly toward me, I would have felt sorry for her." Scout knew she had learned to read on her own but Ms.Caroline immediately snatched the book away and told Scout to tell Atticus that he couldn't teach her anymore.
