The main characters in Breaking Bad are being affected by the environment around them. Walter’s personality has changed since season one because of the people around him and their businesses. All the drug dealers are showing him how to make bad decisions that have dire consequences. The environment had a huge impact in Breaking Bad that it shaped Walter’s personality into Heisenberg since he’s standing up for himself instead of letting everyone walk over him. All the changes within Walter has taken a huge effect in his family and their relationship. This has also affected their personalities. Walter wanted to make sure that Jessie chooses his side so he poisoned Brock and pretended that Gus was framing him. He said, “Who do you know who’s okay with using children, Jesse? Who do you know who has allowed children to be murdered? Hm? Gus! He has–he has been ten steps ahead of me at every turn, and now the one thing that he needed to finally get rid of me is your consent, and boy he’s got that now. He’s got it. And not only does he have that, but he manipulated you into pulling the trigger for him" (Season four episode twelve “End Times”). Walter is willing to manipulate anyone to get rid of his enemies before they get rid of him. Walter has completely changed since season one. In previous seasons he wouldn’t have had the courage to talk back to a person holding a gun to him. To get people on his side, he knows that he has to take drastic measure to make sure that everything goes as he planned. This new Walter shows the audience how a good and average person could turn into a manipulative and dangerous criminal in the drug dealing
