Throughout the lesson different techniques were practiced and certain mathematical concepts involving exponential functions were taught to an Algebra I class, consisting of nine students. As a student teacher, I was able to recognize the students level of comprehension by asking them probing questions during the lesson. In the classroom, the concept was taught by gradually increasing the comprehension level of the lesson. Programs such as Demos, Geogebra were used throughout the lesson by the student teacher to reinforce the ideas with a visual graph. The student teacher, Mee-Lai also encouraged students to be able to use their Inspire calculator which helped them check their answers.
Strengths: My teaching techniques were excellent because I felt the students were engaged

The concept map based on “What is a function?” that we did as a class for the engage helped me as a teacher get a pre-assessment from the students which were making connections to prior knowledge and repetition to understand what a function is (part 1; 4:36). Some of my strengths included to take control of the class and explain and demonstrate the instructions for assignments thoroughly (part 1; 4:45). By letting the students know of the classroom rules and what was expected from them, I kept a controlled classroom and a friendly environment. As a teacher, I was able to build a collaborative classroom that interacted with each other in each assignment. I was well organized, dressed appropriately and was prepare to teach. Before each assignment, I would explain the procedure and how to collect and distribute material within the classroom. Another strength was that I provided them with content errors while working out problems and clarified any misconceptions (part 5, 1:18). I did an example with the class and I was able to transfer new information by achieving the objectives (part 4; 14:40). Based on that, I felt satisfied while watching the video because I made
