How Has Bradbury Made Predications About Future Technology

I realized through out the novel that Bradbury made predications about future technology. In the book, Montag has grown accustom to Mildred’s constant use of “seashells” and “ thimble radios.” The book explains them which through his description are ear buds connected to a radio. Bradbury was able predict their widespread popularity and the creation themselves as this technology did not yet exist when Bradbury wrote this book. Furthermore, Bradbury discusses how there have been many changes made to the TV. To add to the experience of watching there has been changes such as making it interactive by allowing its viewer to read a script as Mildred did on page 17. This being similar to how companies today found and continue to search for ways to improve enjoyment of the television and other devices like smart phones and computers by enhancing the quality and adding a greater variety of things to do on one device. I learned that the creation of such technology was necessary for the government to control its people. It allowed them to keep people preoccupied and not to question them. Although he is a fireman and stands strong with his beliefs about books having a negative impact to their present society, he randomly quotes books. This is significant because, his beliefs and actions that being reading, contradict. He also tries to warn Montag about the consequences of having taken a book home yet is excited going to Montag’s house to burn it down as seen by him saying “Here we go!” and him “…smiling furiously”(pg106). Montag helped clear up my confusion about Beatty in one thought, it being “Beatty wanted to die”(page 116). I believe that Beatty was fed up living with this façade and felt that life as a fireman would not offer him anything.
