How Hitler Rose to Power

The disaster that was the Holocaust started on January 30, of 1933 when Germany appointed Adolf Hitler as Chancellor of Germany. Shortly after Hitler assumed the role as Chancellor, the wheels began turning in motion to initiate a historic tragedy. The global tragedy, known as “The Holocaust,” targeted a variety of people, primarily the Jewish race, killing them in several different ways. For one to actually understand why the Holocaust happened the way it did, one must understand the Nazi’s motivations and goals, as well as the backstory behind Adolf Hitler.

He served in World War One and by the end had been wounded twice and had been promoted to Corporal. When he learned that Germany surrendered, a rage and sadness grew in his heart. The blame for German surrender and this hatred would later be directed to the Jews and other parties.

According to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Hitler was a well mannered, outgoing, and very persuasive. Until he became Chancellor of Germany and cleared out over six million Jewish people, people would have never expected anything so major. Hitler did not just target the Jews because of the previously stated German Surrender, but Hitler wanted to create a “perfect” or “master” race. This meeting was held on January 20, 1942. The goal of this conference was too simple; they had to find out ways to rid Germany of all of these so-called flawed people. They had to try and come up with the means to slaughter all of the Jewish, homosexual, physically challenged, and gypsies that were in Germany. As history goes on further and states that Heydrich, who lead the conference, had every single step and minute planned out before they entered the meeting.
