Greek mythology includes many stories that relate to gods, heroes, and rituals. Greek myths deal with struggles, gods of the world, and many other stories. Asclepius started as a moralist and then became the most important part of the arts of medicine and healing. The myth of Asclepius and the god of medicine is connected to the origins of medical science and healing arts that are still related today. The myth of Asclepius and the god of medicine first originated in Thessaly but spread to many other parts of Greece. Aslcpius had many key qualities, like his capacities and remedies. Chiron brought Asclepius up and became his mentor. He taught him about the art of surgery and the effective use of drugs. He was also taught about incantations and aphrodisiacs as aids to healing. During his life, he was said to have done many miracles, like bringing back the dead. In doing this, Asclepius angered a couple for messing with the natural flow of life. When Asclepius brought back the dead, Hades was not happy about it because he felt like the souls of the dead were rightfully his to keep. Along with Hades, he also angered many other gods. As a result, Zues struck him down with a lightning bolt that ended his life. Now that this was done, no one could ever be brought back to life again, and everyone was subjected to the natural order of life and death. Over time, Zues recognized what Asclepius had done for humanity and decided to turn him into a constellation, thus returning him to the sky …show more content…

Although Asclepius was a healer and was able to heal everyone from pain and sickness, this led to conflict between the gods as they felt it disrupted the natural order. The result of this was that he was struck down by the thunderbolt. This can teach the reader the cautions of overstepping boundaries. After his death, he was still talked about, even to this day.
