- Respect, especially to their elders and ancestors - loyalty to country and lord was big too, ‘Fear of disgrace hung like a sword over the head of every samurai’ (Nitobe, Bushido: The Soul of Japan, 1899) - if a samurai broke any or didn’t live with any of these values he would be dishonoured in the eyes of his daimyo, society and himself , he would commit suicide called Seppuku during which he would slice open his abdomen and then another would decapitate them. The word Seppuku comes from the words setsu and fuku which mean ‘to cut’ and
A way that sports can give you self confidence is that when you're playing a sport everyone is cheering for you and when you do a good job you feel good about yourself. The New York Times Upfront magazine says, “ When an athlete performs well as a result of this kind of disciplined training, he or she develops genuine self-confidence.” ( Mark Hyman and Nathan Pitcock). It really does too because the reason why most children are playing is for fun and it’s always the most fun when you're winning or doing good, it makes you feel good. Another example is if you do so good in a sport that you are looking to be recruited to college.

Many of today 's athletes dedicate their time to just get better and be the best. It 's just only competitive. Boxing is the art of the glove fist fighting between two opponents in an elevated ring-typically a square, canvas-covered mat
An example of this can be seen when Jessica gets her running leg. This makes her have more hope for running again, and she becomes way more confident. But the change really happens when Jessica actually uses the running leg. She starts running every single day. This is constantly making her more confident than she ever was.

I have always LOVED Thanksgiving. This wonderful holiday reminds me of how lucky I am to have an awesome family, karate, and shelter. I have an awesome family because, they take care of me when I’m sick or hurt. They also support me, like when I was in my old school someone bullied me and I told my parents so they helped support me. Lastly, they are supper nice.
Being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is an option. At some points in my life I’ve hated the sport of wrestling. At other I’ve never loved anything more. All in all, wrestling has taught me a lot about myself. When i placed at the state tournament, I learned that no matter where someone comes from they can do big things, if they have the right mindset and the determination.
If you get kicked or punched right in the right spot on your head you could get a major concussion or in a worse case, killed. I would consider MMA to people who fight a lot in school. People who fight a lot in school most likely will become a MMA fighter. Such as Anderson Silva in 3rd grade he broke a kid 's nose for calling him a girl. Here is some advice for MMA “it’s not about hard you hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and get back up.”
According to the National Alliance of Social Workers (NASW), social justice is one of the primary ethics which social workers must uphold. Empowerment is a social work theory rooted in social justice, with a main goal of reducing social inequalities through community building and redistribution of access to power. The basic premise of empowerment is "to change the environment, change yourself" (Van Wormer & Besthorn, pg. 212). However, in order to change one 's environment or self, there must be options available and opportunities for individuals to have control over their own decisions. Empowerment theory also aims to build community through citizen participation, collaboration and engagement among community members.
