A proctor is a person who takes charge of, or acts for, another. The title is used in England and some other English-speaking countries in three principal contexts: In law, a proctor is a historical class of lawyers, and the King's Proctor is a senior government lawyer. In the play The Crucible there is a quite the protagonist of John Proctor where at the end he was brought to a life-or-death situation to end it off, so today we will be figuring out on how John Proctor is a dynamic character in the play, The Crucible by Arthur Miller. Shortly after that the girls supposedly started seeing spirits within the court where they brought themselves outside bringing john to make statements like “God is dead” (3,519). That in which is a very hard-hitting statement bringing himself into being blamed to be unholy and witchful. Before this statement against God, the girls went further being an issue with them repeating Mary Warren making here be under witchful behavior that is which john was quite annoyed by with him saying “Give me a whip – I’ll stop it!” (3,464). Here at the end of the play we learned that John Proctor wanted to live up to his name, however he messed up initially with Abigail ultimately making him end his life with him not wanting to confess a lie that he would not live with. This brought him to the point where he gave in and did not confess accepting the gibbet instead of living a life of sin and lies that are presented to the general public of the village. So, what has been presented, we can say that John Proctor failed to live up or protect his name in the end making him not be part of society no more.
