It was the repugnance and disturbing year of 2081,and everybody was told that they were all equal but they were not.Some people had to wear big heavy metal boxes with headphones.Others had to wear mask to cover up their beauty.This devastating thing happens in both the short story and short film “Harrison Bergeron”. Even though these two entertaining pieces are talking about the misunderstood life of Harrison Bergeron they have the same settings and theme, but have different characterization, mood, and dialogue. In the short story and film “Harrison Bergeron” starts at the parents house.As both the film and story go on the settings change to the theater and back to the house.The settings change back and forth throughout the whole short film and story. An example of one of these differences is the characterization . The way that the author of “Harrison Bergeron” explains Harrison you would think that he is an unnatural beast but he in no were near a beast.For example the story stated “He was exactly seven feet tall” and that he is “age fourteen” (Vonnegut);although, in the film Harrison looks as if he is a average adult male. The text also reveals“that he wear at all times a red rubber ball for a nose, keep his eyebrows shaved off, and cover his even white teeth with black caps at snaggle-tooth random”( Vonnegut) ;however, the film none of these things he were apart of his appearance.In fact Harrison had thick beautiful eyebrows,an uncovered nose, and purely white teeth.Much like the first two examples this last one is a about the appearance of an character.It about the appearance of the ballerina that Harrison danced with.They say that she is beautiful but on the film she isn’t really the “model”
