How the Results of World War 1 led to the First Red Scare. The 1930s was a time of panic and tension for Americans. After World War One, the American public wanted to be left alone. They were tired of Americans fighting overseas and meddling in other countries’ businesses during the war. This accelerated their hostility towards communists, immigrants, and non-Americans. This stimulated American patriotism, fear, and aggression led to the first Red Scare and American Nativism. American patriotism bolstered anti-American hatred. A military operation requires cooperation, especially from soldiers, and it became clear that Americans were ready to fight for their nation.
