One way to start is by failure. Even some success.
This book, can relate to people who don't usually believe that they can make a change. That they have no effect on the world. This book, tells you straight up, that if you change yourself, you can change the world around you. This is very motivating, and a very awesome
During the reading of chapter 1 by Brenda Combs I became tearful with her story of how the circumstances in her life changed by imploring help from the Lord to heal her from her addictions and homelessness. After she took her decision of staying positive, and setting up goals, and with determination that she and her son deserved more than a simple paycheck. Those thoughts were her inspiration for improvement, and working very hard in her dreams without giving up. The poem she wrote for her son inspired me to work harder and continue working with love and respect for self and others as always do and being an example for my daughter. With this article I was able to identify many of my areas that I have to work- on and also I was able to identify
Memorable Quotes - Some memorable quotes from the book to me are as follows; “Personal explanations of success don’t work. People don’t rise from nothing." , “We are too much in awe of those who succeed and far too dismissive of those who fail.” , “The sense of entitlement…is an attitude perfectly suited to succeeding in the modern world.”, and “Throughout history, not surprisingly, the people who grow rice have always worked harder than almost any other kind of farmer.”.
The life lessons that can be learned from this book will inspire the reader to go out and push the limits of what they thought was
Right now I have goals, goals that I sometime doubt that I can achieve. Sure, I say that I will go through with everything I set up for myself but I feel that I will reach a point where I am too tired and fed up to continue to the end and give up. That’s something I don’t want to happen to me. Reading this book helped me remember that things like certificates, diplomas, money, wealth, etc. will not be handed down to me. I need to work for what I want, it will not be easy, but it will definitely be worth it in the end.
The first article that was interesting is Being the Amazing RD that Changes Lives from Chere Bork. I like this article because it is motivational. Chere is straightforward in her explanations, her philosophy is that we are our own master; we control our life according to our beliefs and what we choose to focus on, which can be either positive or negative. Furthermore, she states that our expectations can change by focusing on what we really desire, and emphasizes on the fact that we posses everything to realize our dream. Basically discourage and pessimism should be banned from our vocabulary, and we should start doing what we want to do with confidentiality.
Professionally, chapter seven would benefit me the most for my major. I plan on going into physical therapy to help children and adults after injuries and those who need help getting back to normal. The chapter deals with how memory works and for my job, this can be beneficial when a patient has a concussion or brain trauma.
I think the theme of this book is no matter who you are or where you come from you can achieve your goals with hard work, love, and
In a fairly recent interview Carter revealed his secrets and a few tips he has picked up along the way. A strong mentality is crucial when determined to make it to the top. A good work ethic is necessary when trying to maintain any job but when attempting to
Remain who I am no matter what. If I am told I can’t be me because of they what the work place is, then I shouldn’t want to work for those people. The last important take away from this book is how success is never on the inside of the
Outliers Malcolm Gladwell does an excellent job in taking the expected and making it the unexpected. He shows that although hard work and dedication are important to be successful, they are not the only determining factors. Each chapter started out with a story of someone who seemed to have risen from nothing into something, and he carefully broke the situation down and analyzed the time periods, what their religion/ ethnicity were, family life, and what was occurring in the world during their youth. In each part he connected back to previous stories/examples to continue making the point that it is almost impossible to truly make a successful career out of nothing on your own.
There is no one book that has influenced me to change my beliefs, however, as a collective whole I’ve been able to find many books enjoyable and the context relatable. Holden Caulfield yearned for an uncorrupt world where children could make the most of their youth. Winston Smith was skeptical (arguably paranoid
Last but not least try being the best worker you can be and everything else should fall into
Third is not being shy to ask peers or the psychology department for advice about something you are dealing with and trying it in the classroom. Fourth is to be patient with yourself, no one was born
