The United States of America is one of the only superpowers in the world. America is loved, however, hated at the same time. There has been an ongoing controversy throughout America and the world for many years. The decision of whether or not to have America’s borders open or secured has stumped many throughout the years. This problem has caused so much controversy that America has done nothing to make a difference regarding border control. I believe that keeping the borders secured is the decision America should make. I have noticed that through keeping America’s borders open we are susceptible to major attacks from terrorists. More people hate America than love it, therefore, by keeping the borders open America is asking to be attacked. By keeping the border secured America can control exactly what goods are imported and exported. Furthermore, by keeping the borders open America can expect a large increase of illegal immigrants trying to sneak their way into the country. …show more content…
As I stated earlier; America is not a well-liked country, therefore, people want to hurt and attack America. By not having secured borders America can expect attacks from other countries and extremists such as Al-Qaeda or ISIS. 9/11 is probably the most memorable yet horrible attack on America by religious extremists. 9/11 was the fall of the world trade center in New York City; an attack that Al-Qaeda had claimed credit for. The world trade center would still be standing today if America had taken its security more seriously. People want to be safe and have a sense of security to rely on.
