Introduction:
I have made so that this interview takes place at a special time, the interview is staged to be 1975 a while after Bohemian Rhapsody’s release. I choose this time because it was at this time, with this song, that Queens fame begun. I also choose this date because it’s easier to ask question about a special event, and what led to it.
The interview is quiet long because of the specific questions: some questions are answered directly and thoroughly while some need follow-up questions. The interview is based on the biography about Freddie Mercury, who’s also the person I’ve chosen to interview. That certainly is true, the album “A Night at the Opera” was recently released featuring many songs, but I’m most interested in one, so my first question is about the song Bohemian Rhapsody. What gave you the idée to make such a masterpiece?

It was more of a vision than an idée; Bohemian Rhapstody is, as I call it, a ‘mock opera’. I knew exactly how I wanted it to be and how it would sound. A flamboyant patchwork pop, a capella intro, sentimental verses, faux-Italian chorale, and a thundering glam-metal climax. It became exactly how I wanted it to be.

Why did you choose to call it a ‘mock opera’?

Because I wanted it to be 'mock opera', something outside the norm of rock songs, and it does actually follow a certain operatic logic: choruses of multi-tracked voices alternate with aria-like solos, the emotions are excessive, the plot confusing.
