A Good Man Is Hard To Find
In the story “A Good Man Is Hard to Find” which is by Flannery O’Connor explains how in a times of crisis, people will change their moods to stay alive.
In this story the family was going on a family trip with their grandmother to Florida to enjoy another occasion to spend some time together. She sees this as an ideal time to visit in Tennessee and change her only son’s mind about the direction they are going. Bailey was not eager to hear her idea to go that way because some corrupt criminal was on the loose in that area. The grandmother didn’t want to visit a place where the children had gone previously but she felt that they need a new adventure.
The next morning, grandmother was the first one in the car with her bags packed. She even packed her cat “Pitty Sing” (1) by hiding her so her son couldn’t see the cat. She didn’t want her to be alone while they were gone and accidently turn on the gas in the house.
While on the road, it was a good day to travel, the weather was perfect. The grandmother was telling stories to the children about her past and living on the plantation. “They decided to stop at The Tower for barbecued sandwiches,” (140) which is a filling

Nobody is injured but they are stranded. As the family awaits to be rescued, a car stops to help the family but turns out it was the misfits. As the misfit continues to talk to grandmother, the family realizes who they are tries to convince them that their good people but. After the family is killed and the grandmother is left, she tries to convince the misfit leader to let her live. The grandmother says, “Let god save his soul.” (154) as she feels like she has convinced him, she tries to touch him and he turns around then he shoots her and kills her. The grandmother is selfish to try save her own life instead of her family she didn’t deserve
