Human Resources Plan We have a few ideas for a viable HR plan to support the HR and company strategy while Sundance grows their business. Through investing their time and resources into training, developing a company culture, and expansion, Sundance is also going to need to focus their attention on a solid HR plan. Sundance will need to truly make a shift in thinking of HR as a valuable strategic partner in order for this HR plan to work. Our HR plan for Sundance revolves around implementing a new hire orientation and a learning and development department within human resources. The first part of the HR plan would be for Sundance to create a formal onboarding process for employees. This new hire orientation will help employee’s coming into the company to all start on the same page. Onboarding will include learning the company’s mission statement, values, and culture. It will also involve going through the Sundance experience and teaching new employees the customer service skills needed to make the Sundance experience consistent across all of the retail chains. To do this, Sundance will either need to hire an onboarding specialist, or train one of the current three HR employees to complete the official onboarding. If an employee has a bad onboarding experience, they are less likely to stay with the company long term. By developing a formal new hire orientation for each employee that starts with Sundance, they will be able to save money in the long run as retention rates will go increase as turnover decreases. The onboarding experience will help employees to bond with the company’s mission and culture. Getting the background and training they need to be successful during this onboarding period will be essential to the strategy of developing a consistent Sundance experience across all the retail
