Question One
At the beginning, my initial thoughts on the approach of the assignment were that it would require me to do extensive research on the questions. For instance, benchmarking required me to use several sources so as to come up with the different ways of using it to improve the organization’s ability for perfect performance. Also, PDSA cycle needed a keen and thorough scrutiny thus the use of various sources to get authentic information concerning the question.
Question Two
Benchmarking is the evaluation and comparison of something or actions by the look of standards. In companies, benchmarking is an important activity since employees get to learn from the best-performing companies. The company tries the change so as to learn from it and know where to improve on so that it works for the good of the company. For the purpose of continuous improvement, companies use the method to deter future mistakes before investing any cash on the planned change (Husnoo et al., 2015).
Question Four
When resources are scarce and competition in the market high, companies do use different criteria to determine the areas to improve. The areas to improve on are determined by the amount of resources needed and the different methods used by other companies in the market. If the improvement requires more resources than the company can manage and is necessary for boosting the organization’s performance regarding competition, the company might consider borrowing resources.
