Humanity In Frankenstein

The image of a human that is engraved into society's mind is not necessarily the only way to see humanity in the world. The human race is extremely diverse when it comes to minds, and when it comes to bodies. Something doesn't have to be technically human to possess human characteristics. The monster in ‘Frankenstein’ is more human because he feels pain, love, and hate.

The monster that Victor Frankenstein creates comes to life just as human as anybody. When he first comes to life, victor is horrified. He is disgusted with what he had just created. In his head he was going to make a perfect looking being, but in reality he created a being that was far from perfect. He created a monster. Victor says that “God in pity made man beautiful and

He wants someone to be able to love just like anyone can have. The monster is very stubborn as well, he says, “If I cannot inspire love, I will cause fear” (104). This is him saying that if he cannot have love, then he will bring fear into people through killing, or just scaring them. He is exactly like a human in the sense that he wants things to go his way. He just wants to love someone that would love him in return, since his own creator ran out on him. The thing about the monster is that he feels a lot of things but does not exactly know what he is feeling. He does know one feeling though. The desire for love that he has. He says to Victor, “You must create a female for me” because he needs love, just as a human does (104). No person can make it on their own successfully without a companion to do it with them. It only makes him human to want somebody. The monster sees his own flaws, and notices that everyone else looks at him like he is not human. He says in the context as if Victor were to kill him, “you would not call it murder” because he sees himself as human, but the others do not

To some it is a word that describes their feelings towards another. And to others, it is an action that you do in spite of something. The monster feels hate all the way throughout the book in many different ways. For example, the monster saves a girl out of the river, but is then shot due to the others thinking he is the bad guy just because of his looks. He promises his “Eternal hatred and vengeance to all mankind. (101)” because they are so mean to him. Anger is a word that is formed from hate. Hate leads to anger in most cases, that is why most people do things they do not mean to do when they are mad. In the book, the monster had a “rage of anger” and proceeded to burn the De Lacey's cottage to the ground (99). His hate led to anger in this case and he made a decision through the hate. He could not kill humans, so he says, “I turned my fury towards inanimate objects”
