The Avila family includes Javier (father) , Elizabeth (mother) , Gina (daughter) , and also Anthoney (son). The Seeing family includes Ruth (mother) , Herb (father) , Rachel (daughter) , Carla (girlfriend) , and Aunt Bea (aunt).

Chains, Laurie Halse Anderson’s award winning book is a compelling historical fiction story that will show instead of tell you the tear jerking truth about slavery, whilst keeping you at the edge of your seat wanting to continue on your literary journey with every page awaiting your arrival. Because she’s gullible, and superstitious Isabel’s negative characteristics are obstacles in the path of her finding her freedom. Despite these flaws her resilience is able to help her win against slavery.
Mark Smith the author of “The Road to Winter” displays that affliction brings out the very finest and least in people. The story is centred the main character Finn. He survived a deadly virus that wiped out his entire town and he has to adapt to a life by himself. Finn lost his family and friends and had to survive on his own. He learnt to kill animals, defend himself and a whole lot more.
Chains, a novel made by Laurie Halse Anderson, talked about the life of slaves, Loyalists, and patriots. All three of them have different ways of looking at freedom and liberty. Loyalists believe they need the king to survive, while the patriots think that they don’t need a king and can make a country by themselves. In the novel it shows how all three of them disagree with one another, one side believe something different from the other two. Patriots, Loyalists, and slaves, they all have different definition of what freedom and liberty is.
High school to some first year students is option A, a fresh start; time to make new friends, gain a good reputation, and all around be a new person. Or it can be option B, a complete nightmare; stress overload, mental health issues: such as anxiety, depression etc., and possibly the worst four years of your life. Melinda Sordino from Laurie Halse Anderson’s novel Speak seems to be more for option B. The summer leading into grade nine Melinda was raped, and she had no one to talk to. Her friends will not talk to her, she dislikes most of her teachers, and her parents never have time to notice her.
None of us are perfect. We all have our mistakes, flaws, and imperfections. Regardless of this, we still all strive to be perfect. We work on ourselves by trying to fix the problems and become better people. In doing this, we try to develop the traits we want.
The lie of a parent can be well armed that it takes maturity of a child to become aware of it. They might forgive but not forget, nor-erased traumatic events that will remain in their memories. Our educational actions receive from adults (parents, teachers, siblings, grandparents) in our infancy-stages build and create our characteristics. We become who we are based on our personality- a result of our temper. Our behavior is reflected based on beliefs, values and life experiences.
It is estimated that 6 million Jews died during the Holocaust. Elie Wiesel somehow managed to beat those odds. Sadly there was no one there to save Elie, the protagonist of Night, from the misery and distress that he would experience as he went through the Holocaust. He survived harsh beatings, sickness, hunger, thirst, dysentery, and all the other forms of death that plagued his environment. All this would not come without a toll on who Elie was as a character, causing him to undergo a dynamic change.

In Ray Braudbury’s novel, Fahrenheit 451, Guy Montag undergoes major changes because of the influence of other intellects and events; in effect this caused him to ruminate about events that were considered “normal”. Montag’s occupation is firefighting, however he is not the traditional version of a fire fighter. Montag does not put out fire, but rather helps ignite them.
Literature 1 Michael Arroyo August 28, 2015 4th Period “As Simple As Snow” by Gregory Galloway “As Simple as Snow” is a mystery novel made in 2005 that may confuse people’s minds with all the art, magic, codes, and love while reading. As a teen age boy who wants to find the secrets his girlfriend who left behind all these mysteries after her odd disappearance. It also tells about the lost gothic girl, Anna Cayne, who meets the young high-school aged narrator. Throughout the postcards, a shortwave radio, various CDs, and many other irregular interest.
In the book “Two Kinds” by Amy Tan, it’s about a little girl who is pressured by her mother to become something she doesn’t want to be. Jing- mei , the daughter, is forced to become a prodigy(child actress), by her mother, and she doesn’t want to be one. In the story, Jing- meis’ mother uses allusions such as Shirley Temple to push her into becoming a prodigy. Although at first Jing- mei is excited to become a prodigy, she later realizes its something she just doesn’t enjoy doing. Consequently, the uses of allusion in the story help Jing- mei discover to not be a prodigy and that what her mother wants for her is not always important.
Cormac McCarthy’s The Road is a novel based on a post apocalyptic world. The Road tells a story of a father and a son who are part of the small number of survivors. We follow the father and the son's journey, on the state road to the south. On their journey the father and son struggle to survive, while also facing some obstacles. Those obstacle include the lack of food, water and shelter.
In the beginning the sight of his creation petrified Victor Frankenstein. As the novel progresses the relationship and the similarities between the Creature and Dr. Frankenstein become extremely obvious. They possess a need for knowledge which leads to extreme curiosity; which then lead to the creation of the Creature. They also both use nature to their advantage in many situations throughout the novel. The biggest similarity throughout the novel comes from the unending need for revenge.

It is the competent thinkers who create wealth and promote human economic prosperity through innovation and the creation of new enterprises. In her book the passionate producers known as the “Prime movers” like Dagny Taggart, Hank Rearden reshape the marketplace with their innovation and creation of a new enterprise. In John Galt’s speech he says “the man who produces an idea in any field of rational endeavor the man who discovers new knowledge is the permanent benefactor of humanity.”
Stephanie Plum, Morelli, and Ranger are three main characters in the book, One for the Money, by Janet Evanovich. Stephanie is a young woman struggling to get by in the city of Trenton, New Jersey. After losing her job, she goes against her family’s request and gets the dangerous job of a bounty hunter. She gets assigned Joe Morelli, who was accused of murder and who happened to be a childhood enemy. Stephanie is very inexperienced and receives help from a professional bounty hunter, Ranger.
