I have watched The Hunger Games recently, but after reading the first chapter I felt the need to watch it again to see if I missed any underlying meanings. The thing that this movie made me think of when I analyzed it to find any deeper meanings was the Holocaust. The government obviously holds all the wealth in Panem, which is why they are able to make the people of each District fight each other in The Hunger Games. The government is in total control and does not care about the people. It only cares about maintaining their control and their wealth, which leads them to abusing whatever people they want. This symbolism hidden within the movie makes me wonder if the author, Suzanne Collins, is writing about past events, or is she comparing this
