Conflict Essay Hunt or be hunted; the main character in the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, had to face the challenge of life or death. Not only did he have to face that, bt he had all of the little conflicts pulling him down. Hunt or be hunted and survival of the fittest is what frames the story. To begin with, Rainsford faced all types of conflicts throughout the story. However, one of the most widespread was the unknown. “What perils that tangle of trees and underbrush might hold for him did not concern Rainsford just then” (42 Connell.)
