Many times in an English class you don’t get the opportunity to choose an essay that you get read; however, for this assignment we had that option. While reading these three essays I learned that authors can make hyperbolic and humorous assertions in their essays order to get their point across. In my opinion I don’t think this tactic is very useful to help the reader understand what is being argued. When using a hyperbole in an argumentative essay I think it sometimes can throw the reader off and they won’t understand what you are trying to argue and how it is relevant.
